Body Woes

I know I’m not the only one who’s suffered from hangovers lasting 2-3 days. How many Mondays did I wake up covered in sweat? I would tell myself oh that’s good! My body is getting rid of all the toxins I put in it. My poor body had to work overtime (and doubles and seven days straight) to just try to get back to normal. In rehab I suffered from the worst pain in my liver. It was like someone was stabbing me with an ice pick right under my right ribs. My poor liver didn’t know what to do with me now that the alcohol was gone. I’ve come to realize that the body is incredible. My body isn’t quite up to par with Brad Pitt in Thelma and Louise, but it does work just as hard. My liver returned to normal. After 3 decades of abuse. My skin isn’t dehydrated, my hair isn’t dryer than a bone, my eyes are clear. It’s worth a bit of discomfort explaining why I don’t drink when I can look and feel my best. Happy Monday, sober family! Keep it simple today.
