How refreshing. A Saturday morning not waiting to hear from whoever about whatever I did last night. When I forget why I’m sober, I remember how good this feels. I hated the mornings waking up with dread. I hated the days spent apologizing for my actions just to do it again. I actually preferred people to be mad rather than to look at me with the pity they felt when they saw me. As I’ve said before, shame can’t get you sober – if it could I’d have been sober at 16.
