No one could be harder on me than me. So when I sincerely promised myself and others that I wasn’t going to drink and I did it anyway I beat myself up and lived in that shame and guilt for days. I just didn’t get it. How could I not just do this one effffing thing?! It’s so important to forgive ourselves but learn from our mistakes so we don’t repeat them. Wish I’d learned from my first asshole boyfriend to not date assholes. That one took me a minute to figure out too. Maybe I’m a slow learner but this I know this to be true. Forgiving self or others is imperative to my serenity. Plus it’s the right thing to do. Happy Sunday, sober family! Keep it simple today.
