Once I decided I really TRULY wanted to stop drinking I was ready. And I was going to be the BEST at sobriety. If I’m not the best, I don’t even want to attempt it. My very good friend @artunwined said this the other day. “My life was like a dirty swimming pool so when I wanted to get sober and clean it up I wanted to drain the pool and put in fresh water. Then I realized that I have to take out the bad bucket by bucket and refill it with the good…bucket by bucket.” There is zero quick fix. Believe me, I’d have found it by now. So if you drank this weekend and are mad at yourself don’t be. Forgive yourself, learn from it, move on, and pour out that bucket. It’s never a good idea to beat yourself up.
