I’ll never forget what one of the sisters said in a recent SSS Support Group meeting. She had been drinking all day and had to get the kids sorted with dinner, bathtime, books, and bed. She said, “ I was over the day before the day was over”. That hit me hard. We’ve all had shitty days. I got a flat tire yesterday after the Hell Week I called my job this week. If I had been hungover or wasted at the time it would have seemed an impossible hurdle to navigate over. I probably would’ve left it to deal with Sunday night..with a raging hangover and the Sunday Shamesies. Yeah it sucked. Yep it’s hot as hades and I don’t have the money for a new tire. Then I think welp…at least I have the money I used to spend on a daily on my wine so I guess I can spare a few bucks for a tire. I guess I don’t need all the shit in my Amazon cart anytime soon. I don’t want to be over ANY day before it’s over. I’m grateful that I have a car and a job to drive it to on Monday. Happy Saturday, sober family! Keep it simple today.
