Just as the saying goes, “if you spot it, you got it”. I used to judge, judge, JUDGE those who were struggling to put down the bottle when I was still drinking. I’d compare myself out all day long too. So and so’s so bad she got another DUI (I have one of those). So and so cheated on her man when she was drunk (did it). So and so called out sick again (puhlease- that was my jam 🙄). I guess I thought that when I focused on others and their problems that no one would look at me. But they looked. Boy howdy did they. One of the reasons I stayed home for the most part of the last few years of drinking was so that there was no fuel for anyone’s fire to have on me. That didn’t get rid of my internet so lo and behold I didn’t even need to leave my house to act a fool. Snapchats to friends talking about how old and tired I am with my grey teeth and purple wine mouth. I still wonder about those damn Facebook memories. What was I thinking?! 🤔 At one point I made my profile picture be Snooki from the Jersey Shore. Umm. What? I’m not even from Jersey. Today I look at people in a non judgmental way I hope. If anyone seeks help with alcohol use disorder I try to help them. If someone doesn’t like me anymore that I’m sober? Welp. It was nice knowing you. Happy Monday, sober family! Keep it simple today.
