It’s a delight to wake up on a Saturday morning without my head in a toilet and my nerves shot to shit. No shame, guilt, or remorse today. Do I miss drinking? Not today. Summertime Saturdays used to be getting coolers ready and getting outside. Unfortunately for me, I’m not a moderator so I always got too drunk (no matter how many times I’d promised myself I wouldn’t), acted inappropriately, got a headache, and “powered through”. I told myself that I couldn’t stop drinking…who wants a hangover by four pm? I can’t be happier knowing that that won’t ever happen again. Happy Saturday, sober family. Keep it simple today.
