People ask what my hobbies are sometimes. Today I can rattle off a list; reading, beaching, writing, sober outreach, family and friends time, teaching, pets, exercise, live music, etc. Asked that when I was in the cups? My answer was drinking. I never saw or I never chose to see that my alcohol use kept me from doing anything meaningful. The only thought I woke up with was FU*CKKK what did I DO last night? And as the day progressed it was ok how do I fix what I inevitably messed up and I need to find money to drink tonight. Shitty hobby. For now I think I’ll stay the sober course.
