Calm

The storm continued for decades for me. It was a life of uncertainty, turbulence, and chaos. Even on the extremely rare days that I didn’t drink the storm was brewing. I was fearful, angry, and anxious. I was always waiting for my life to get better so I could stop drinking. Little did I know that when I stopped drinking, life would get better. So many of us used the Fourth of July to drink even more excessively. Any excuse to party was enough for me in my day. For what? To be seeing double looking at fireworks? No thanks. I’m grateful that I didn’t use the fourth as an excuse to drink a fifth. Happy Monday, sober family. Keep it simple today.
