Mothers day

I don’t focus on past regrets. I truly believe that it took every last drink I took to get to where I am today. Everyone’s different and it takes what it takes to change our relationships with alcohol. I do remember certain situations from when I drank, though. I used to be hungover for most every Mother’s Day before I got sober. I couldn’t fully appreciate what was being celebrated. I quite enjoyed the mimosas, though. 🙄 Today I can be grateful for being a mother and having a mother. I can spend the day with my family and enjoy and remember every minute of it. This mama can’t drink. Once I figured that out, life has been pretty good. Sobriety isn’t always easy but it’s definitely always worth it. Happy Mother’s Day, sober family. Keep it simple today.
