I was more than a bit reluctant to stop drinking a few years ago. So many of us just have “back problems”. We want our health back, our job back, our man back, our kids back, our driving privileges back. When we stay sober we get all of these things back eventually…or realize we never wanted them in the first place. It’s incredible to have a clear mind to make the right decisions and actually listen to our intuition. I didn’t lose everything to alcohol. I gave it all away. There is always a choice. No one poured liquor down my throat, that was all me. No one can want my sobriety for me. I have the power to make that decision every day that I wake up. If I can go alcohol free today, I probably can do the same tomorrow. The tomorrows add up and I’ve never once regretted staying sober. I can’t say the same about drinking. Hangover-free is a refreshing way to start the day. I can actually remember what I did last night. Happy Friday, sober family. Keep it simple today.
