We sure do. My sobriety brought me confidence, strength, serenity and vision. I can deal with problems head on and not bury my head in a pillow and hope they just go away. On a more superficial note, I look younger today than I did ten years ago which doesn’t hurt the confidence. I’m not full of shame and guilt and people are actually interested in my advice. I can look at myself in the mirror and know that I’m living my best life. I follow my intuition and my heart, show up for my friends who need me, and do the next right thing every day. I may be the only example of a sober woman that someone meets today so it’s best to be a good one. The liquid courage brought on by alcohol never made me brave – I was chock full of fear when I was drinking. I get sh*t done now and I have my sobriety to thank for that.
