We really had no idea that getting sober would make every part of our lives better. We knew it would help us physically and believed that we would get more done not being hungover and/or drunk all the time. Something that we talk about a lot is the fact that every single part of our lives has improved. When we treated our bodies and spirits badly by ingesting huge amounts of alcohol we obviously lacked in self love. If we give ourselves permission to treat ourselves like shit, why wouldn’t others treat us poorly too? It’s life changing when you love yourself enough to only accept the best for you. No more hangovers, hangxiety, or the shamesies. There is not a single reason to go back to what I allowed to break me. I’d rather live happy, guilt-free, and respected. Happy Sunday, sober family.
